Fashion - Beyonce

I had the pleasure of recently working with Beyonce on her last date of her world tour " Formation Tour."  Her stylist Marni Senofonte was looking for one last garment, that would make a statement, something yellow, something bold for Bey to wear while she performs "lemonade"..It was a match made in Heaven! She looked amazing in my yellow silk taffeta bubble coat.  She was working it like no-one could ever, surrounded by her dancers.  Unforgettable!

Fashion - Opera/Music

I started my career building costume when i was asked to work for the Montreal Opera house on their then new production of "La Traviata."  They gave me the dress for Violetta's friend, Flora. I was hooked with period costumes, answering a need to learn period details and construction methods, as well as working with the most incredible art form there is.  When living in Paris ,I was working and living across the street fromthe Bastille Opera, dressing all their international soloists, and since I moved to New York city,I continued to dress some of the most talented opera singers in the world, including Natalie Dessay, Erika Sunnegardh, Joyce DiDonato, Susan Graham, and Deborah Voigt, to name a few.

Fashion - Celebrity

The fashion scene is tightly intertwined with Hollywood, especially for the red carpet events. I was linked since the beginning with the A list celebrities. When the movie "Sex and the City" was being filmed, costume designer Patricia Field requested some of my pieces, first, for a promotional shoot on Sarah Jessica Parker, in the streets of New York, then for the film itself.  Other designers and productions followed.

Fashion Red Carpet

I spend a lot of time in my studio, working one-on-one with clients, but mostly just sewing.  It's always great then to get out of the studio and be part of the amazingly supportive fashion world.  The best part is getting to see my designs on my clients.  And every once in a while, I get a chance to step on the red carpet myself.

It was such a pleasure to be part of this editorial for Faery Magazine.  I am always amazed by what happens behind the scenes to make such beautiful images, so I enjoy sharing these photos that show the creative process.

Fashion - Press

I have had the opportunity to be part of many magazine covers and editorials, as well as blog features.  It's always an opportunity for me to share my designs with the world, as well as to help my clients be more visible.

Bridal - NY Streets

These images are the work of photographer Filippo Del Vita, collaborator with many different international fashion magazines.. When a friend of mine offered to put me in contact with him, I accepted immediately. The pictures of model Dominique X, a natural red hair beauty, in my Bridal gowns.  The shoot was an immense success with bridal bloggers across the country.  We all agreed that an urban, edgy setting was the perfect fit.

Bridal - Kurv

Launching a Bridal gown collection was a natural evolution for me.  I was missing the drama of haute-couture and period costumes, and bridal allowed me a new way to connect the two.  I love manipulating fabrics and play directly with it on the dress form, where I can develop shapes and volumes instantly. Guess what was the name of the first collection was? "Opera" ...what else, right?!  Here are some amazing press images, including five editorial pages in main bridal magazines, two covers and many articles, as well as interviews for this first collection.  We also had ABC news journalist Jamie Roth, film an interview with me.  What a fun girl!

Bridal Press

Launching a collection is always very demanding and needs to be a team effort in order to be successful. I had the pleasure of working with an extraordinary press agent Vanessa Wakeman from Wakeman Agency in order to maximize the reach to key players in the industry. Here are some of the press we got ...She even won an award for the amazing work she did with us, Congrats V !

I had to be clever while building the collar: the fabric itself was heavy, and it is much heavier with the embroidery! I managed to create a portrait collar that stands up by itself !

Different projects

Italian Fashion Designers Dolce & Gabbana threw a 3 days event  early April 2018 , presenting their mens and womens "alta Moda" collection as well as their haute jewelry collection in Iconic spaces around New York city.

I was approached to  build 3 Playboy Bunny suits for models walking around as cigarette girls during their after party.

I searched the internet for iconic images and decided to give the looks a vintage 1960s feel, with cinched waist, tuxedo collar and a  very slim bow tie that is much more stylish and delicate than later ones.

Here are some pictures of my research,  the making of, and the final result...
